Hello my name is Ron Van Nostrand. For the purposes of the web site once you
\nknow that all you have to do is add .com and you\u2019re here. For some time\u00a0 I\u2019ve
\nresisted\u00a0 being a presence on the internet, mostly because I would have to
\ndefine myself in some way.<\/p>\n
I was reading an article in the Science of the mind this morning about \u201cgoing
\nwith the flow.\u201d It stated that even dead fish go with the flow. The secret was
\nto ride on top of the current like a surfer rides a wave.\u00a0 Following the course
\nof the wave, yet still being somewhat in control of the experience.<\/p>\n
At this point a discussion began about how much easier it is to create
\nsomething new than replicating something that is already been done (unless you
\nhave a 3-D printer.) It was then that I realized exactly who or what I am. I am
\na \u201cSound Surfer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Originally this started by playing with a group of friends where we set loose
\nboundaries and let the music take us wherever it flowed. I am fortunate to
\ncontinue in this tradition as a member of the band \u201cA Flock of Free Range
\nChildren\u201d and honored that they allow me to provide lyrical content in our
\nsalute to our muse.<\/p>\n
Now I have always been a bit concerned about spending a lot of time on
\ncomputers for health reasons and like video games web-surfing can be quite
\naddicting and prevent one from experiencing the beauty outside the back door
\n(or front door.) So I hope if you\u2019re going to be on anyway you will join me.<\/p>\n
Until we meet in cyber-space again just think of me as \u201cThe Sound Surfer,\u201d
\nsearching for the underlying rhythm of each of life\u2019s wave in which to ride
\nthrough eternity.<\/p>\n
