Although financially we have been prospering spiritually, many of us have suffered severe poverty of the soul and because of it in the pursuit of material happiness played a great part in the destruction of our planet. Spring of COVID-19<\/p>\n
I hunker down<\/p>\n
ease into new way of living<\/p>\n
begin to see a silver lining<\/p>\n
in all the inconvenience<\/p>\n
anxiety, fear<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
people are kinder<\/p>\n
offer assistance<\/p>\n
family calls, checks in<\/p>\n
more frequently<\/p>\n
friends email<\/p>\n
cheer me up<\/p>\n
with jokes, funny stories<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
air is cleaner outside<\/p>\n
with less traffic on my road<\/p>\n
less toxic fumes circulate<\/p>\n
it is quieter<\/p>\n
I can hear small birds<\/p>\n
trilling in trees<\/p>\n
hear bees buzz<\/p>\n
about the crocuses<\/p>\n
in full bloom<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I look up at the sky<\/p>\n
not a single contrail<\/p>\n
mars the azure blue<\/p>\n
at night, no jet\u2019s red lights<\/p>\n
outshine the stars<\/p>\n
it\u2019s as I remember it<\/p>\n
as a child- a magical blanket<\/p>\n
of twinkling tapers<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
life is lived at a gentler<\/p>\n
sensible tempo<\/p>\n
no rushing here or there<\/p>\n
with nowhere to go<\/p>\n
no people to see<\/p>\n
no scheduled events<\/p>\n
or appointments to keep<\/p>\n
there\u2019s more time<\/p>\n
to cook, clean, bake<\/p>\n
organize, box things up<\/p>\n
I no longer need or want<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
there\u2019s more time now<\/p>\n
to read, write<\/p>\n
go for long walks in nature<\/p>\n
meditate and pray<\/p>\n
with pace more leisurely<\/p>\n
my life is more sane<\/p>\n
this is the silver lining<\/p>\n
in COVID-19<\/p>\n
